The six connected buildings date from the 16th century and have long been used as a warehouse. In what is now the breakfast room, a beer wholesaler with café was established in the 19th century.
The historic buildings all have their own history and the design of the rooms fits in beautifully.
Of course the rooms are equipped with all modern conveniences that you can expect in a 3-star hotel.

Some rooms have a special theme: the Rembrandt room contains an exact replica of the Rembrandt van Rijn box bed made by the current owner of the hotel. There is also a room furnished with furniture from the famous singer from Leiden, Mary Servaes.
The Rose Room, the Delft Blue Room and the Engelenbak: all rooms with a special design.
Breakfast is served buffet style.
A small menu is available in the hotel restaurant, and you can enjoy a drink in the bar.
The hotel has a characteristic meeting room, the Blue Room. This room owes its name to the Old Dutch Delft blue fireplace. The Blue Room has a capacity of approximately 20 people and can be divided into various configurations. Please inquire about our meeting packages!
It is possible to conclude your meeting with a canal cruise through the waters of Leiden, a city walk or perhaps even an outdoor escape room.
In 2019 City Hotel Nieuw Minerva has 35 unique hotel rooms, an attractive meeting room and a cozy bar.
Parking is possible on the street close to the hotel, based on availability. Costs are approximately € 15 per 24 hours (only day tickets).
The best option is parking on the Haagweg parking lot (near Haagweg 4 in Leiden). Free shuttle buses take you to and from the hotel in just a few minutes. Exit tickets at a reduced rate are available at our Front Office.
