A Christmas Carol
This year, Mayflower Bookshop will once again honor the English Christmas tradition with two British Christmas classics: A Christmas Carol on Thursday, December 19 (at 7:30 PM) and, for the very last time, Dinner for One on December 29 at 4:00 PM.
Both events are in English and are performed by the Mayflower Theater Company. Charles Dickens' world-famous Christmas story A Christmas Carol, first published in 1843, has inspired generations of theater makers and film directors to create plays, musicals, films and even cartoons. The timeless story, also known as Scrooge, is very topical today, with its themes of social injustice and poverty. But with the warmth of an English Christmas that the story still radiates, this abbreviated reading of this story is a good way to start Christmas!
