Concert Lili & Nadia Boulanger

The Boulanger sisters played an inestimable role in the musical life of the twentieth century.

Lili, the composer who died young, was the first woman to win the coveted Prix de Rome with her composition 'Faust and Helene'. Her six-year-older sister Nadia became a phenomenon as a teacher of hundreds (!) of students. Nadia, who outlived her younger sister by more than sixty years, claimed that she could read scores before she could read newspapers. In the circle around the salon queen Princesse de Polignac, Boulanger moved in the circles of, among others, Maurice Ravel. It is no wonder that pianist Duco Burgers also makes room for the French impressionist in this programme, which is dedicated to Lili and Nadia.
