The Great Hutspot Meal is one of the highlights of Leidens Ontzet. On Monday 2 October from 17:00 to 18:30, members of the 3 October Vereeniging will gather on the atmospheric Hooglandse Kerkgracht to enjoy this traditional meal.
To participate in the Grote Hutspot maaltijd, members of the 3 October Vereeniging must register. Registration is possible on Thursday 21 September between 16:30 and 21:00 in De Waag at the Aalmarkt. You can read more about that here.
During that registration you can also register for the Haring & Wittebrood award ceremony on October 3. Don't forget to bring your marriage certificate, driver's license, ID or October 3 membership card. Each membership entitles you to a maximum of two hutspot vouchers.
Prefer not to eat meat? During the celebration of Leidens Ontzet, two versions of hutspot will be served. The 'peen-en-ui-met-klapstuk' is the traditional version. We also offer an equally delicious vegan hutspot. So there is something for everyone!

In addition to the delicious hutspot, there is also plenty of cozy music during the Grote Hutspot maaltijd (Great Hutspot Meal) and the 3 October Kraam is present with the most beautiful red and white items. For the thirsty visitors, there are various points where you can buy a drink yourself. Eco-glasses are used for this, which you can buy at the bar for 1 euro. After the meal, you can exchange the eco-glass anywhere in the city.
