Concert La Mer
In a series of concerts dedicated to the sea, Claude Debussy's masterpiece 'La Mer' cannot be missed.
Arranger Tim Mulleman reduces the orchestral work to a sextet. The rest of the program is also dedicated to nature. In addition to 'La Mer', La Barca Leyden also plays Mulleman's arrangement of the 'Prélude à l'apres-midi d'un faune', Olivier Messiaen's musical version of the blackbird in his 'Merle noir' and several parts of Beethoven's sixth symphony, the 'Pastorale', in a quartet arrangement by Johann Nepomuk Hummel.
