Regional knowledge center
Erfgoed Leiden en Omstreken (ELO) is the regional knowledge centre for research, education and information in the field of heritage; more than nine kilometres centuries-old archive and an extensive collection of books, prints, posters and films. ELO also advises and informs about archaeology, monuments and durability. Molen De Valk (the Falcon Mill) is also a part of ELO.
Pilgrim documents database
From England, the Pilgrims fled via Amsterdam to Leiden in 1609. Here they lived for almost 12 years before leaving for America 400 years ago. Much has been recorded about their Leiden life: in marriage certificates, house purchase certificates, but also in burial registers, wills and even court cases. After scanning and transcribing, these documents are now accessible to everyone through Erfgoed Leiden!
